Quality and Certificates

Dover Tool is currently certified to AS9100/ISO9001: 2000. We are also an approved source for General Electric and certified to S-1000 specification (GE Code 59134). We use a Sampling Plan that is in conformance with MIL-STD-1916. All major and critical characteristics are inspected 100% by our company. Real time / feedback process controls are mandatory for critical dimensional requirements and feature relationships. Occasionally, major and critical characteristics were defined by the customer. Any other tight tolerances that were not defined by our customer will be considered as majors and identfied in our manufacturing plan in order to improve product quality.

Dover uses qualified vendors to perform special processes when required by contracts / purchase orders. Selection of approved vendors are based on customer-approved special sources and/or the ability to meet Dover's requirements (based on quality certifications and performance history). The following types of special processes subcontracted include: Electrofilm Plate, Shot Peen, Chrome Plate, Penetrant Inspection, Ultrasonic Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Balancing, Heat Treat, Welding, Laser Drilling and any others requiring very specialized expertise, equipment, or operator certifications. For most special process facilities, we prefer to see approvals from several primes as an indication of stability and flexibility.
